3D drawings
The gaze is the point of departure for this work. In the landscape painting tradition there has always been a distance between what is looked upon and what is portrayed. This distance is somehow compromised when television becomes the new landscape; offering the promise of a reality with the everlasting risk of being closer to fantasy. The Myth of Medusa, and her power to petrify those who look straight into her eyes, is inherent in the new landscape offered by television. The duality between staring straight at the TV screen or through the lense of imagination and fantasy, is what provokes the metaphoric and formal games within the new drawings. By subversively juxtaposing mediated and ordinary images within space (pictorial and 3D) I have the intention of subordinating the contradictory into a delicate and imaginative order, that will in the end offer a technicolor version of an inner landscape.
